20-21.11.2023 – the conference “Multiple Approaches to Oriental Studies”

Archaeo-Oriental Studies were presented at the 12th International Conference “Multiple Approaches to Oriental Studies”, organised by the Committee for Oriental Studies, Polish Academy of Sciences, the Faculty of Oriental Studies, UW, and the Polish Society for Oriental Studies. Three papers concerned our research: those by Joanna Ciesielska (Keepers of Tradition: Communicating status via attire among Sudanese women), Zuzanna Augustyniak and Kamil Kuraszkiewicz (Archaeo-Oriental studies: Filling a gap in knowledge and research), as well as by Magdalena Pinker and Mariusz Drzewiecki (Gate(s) of al-Mahdiyya Re-Imagined. Analyses of medieval written sources and architectural remains).
