You are cordially invited to the April Archaeo-Oriental seminar entitled: The Empire Strikes Back. Were/are/will there be any empires? On 7 April at 5 p.m. in the Reading Room of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at 69 Hoża Street, we will discuss when we can and should talk about empires; why some states, despite their imperial aspirations, were not called so? The discussion will be initiated by Prof. Hanna Rubinkowska-Anioł (Chair of African Languages and Cultures) and Dr. Weronika Rokicka (Chair of South Asia).
