Between 8 and 18 November, the team of Archaeo-Oriental Studies initiated a new research project, focused on Islamic settlement in Tigray region of Ethiopia in the early days of Islam. The project is a result of the Memorandum of Understanding signed last year with the Institute of Paleoenvironment and Heritage Conservation (Mekelle University). The Memorandum results not only in collaborative archaeological and ethnographical research but also in teaching exchange. During their stay at Mekelle, Dr. Zuzanna Augustyniak i Prof. Kamil Kuraszkiewicz conducted not only the field prospection at Negash, but also a workshop on presenting academic work.
