Dr Magdalena Pinker (Faculty of Oriental Studies, UW) and Dr. Mariusz Drzewiecki (Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology, UW) are in Cairo, working on the project “Symbolism of the Fatimid Gates”. They have documented three main gates of the Old Cairo. The next stage will be a research in various libraries in Cairo.
